Kitsap County Outdoor Adventure & Bike Map Available

(Port Orchard, WA) The third printing of the "Kitsap County Outdoor Adventure & Bike Map" is ready for distribution. “This is the best map yet,” according to Bill Zupancic, Transportation Planner for Kitsap County Public Works. The map was produced through a cooperative effort involving the Visitor & Convention Bureau, Kitsap County, the Department of Natural Resources, and parks and recreation staff from local cities and Washington State . “This is the most comprehensive map we’ve produced and residents will find it informative and helpful as they bike in Kitsap County,” said Zupancic.

The maps are available from the Visitors & Convention Bureau, and at county and city offices, local park and recreation districts, State Parks, area Chambers of Commerce, the Bicycle Alliance, local and regional bike clubs and other locations. Local clubs or organizations that want copies of the map can request them by calling Public Work’s Open Line (360-337-5777). The map was produced locally by Source Map, Inc. in Tracyton.

A new electronic version of the map is available at www.kcbikemap.com. The online version will eventually be interactive, according to Zupancic. A mouse click will bring up information pertinent to that specific location.

This is one of the most requested maps that we stock,” according to Grant Griffin, Executive Director of the Kitsap Peninsula Visitor & Convention Bureau. “It fits well with what we promote about the area, our unique family activities and outdoor recreation opportunities,” said Griffin .
