County Hosts Second Miller Bay Corridor Community Meeting

When: Thursday October 5th, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Where: Suquamish Elementary School

(Port Orchard) – Kitsap County Public Works and Cascade Design Collaborative invite you to an interesting and informative evening presenting ideas to improve the Miller Bay Corridor. In addition, Grant Griffin, Executive Director of the Kitsap Peninsula Visitor & Convention Bureau, Terry Reckord of MacLeod Reckord Landscape Architects, and Bill Zupancic, Kitsap County Transportation Planner are presenting information about the process to designate the Mosquito Fleet Trail as a ‘Heritage Tour Route using the State Scenic Byways Program. The Miller Bay corridor is part of the Mosquito Fleet Trail.

This corridor runs along Miller Bay Road from State Highway 104 to State Highway 305. The initial focus is Miller Bay Road from Indianola Road south to Totten Road. Other roads that intersect Miller Bay can also be included in the project if the community identifies them as important elements of this project. Residents of Suquamish, Indianola and Kingston, along with other North Kitsap residents, local business, local Tribes and others who are interested are encouraged to be involved in the review and planning for this corridor. Our goal is maintaining and improving the rural character of the area, while providing safe pedestrian and non-motorized routes for the next twenty years.
