Women in Agriculture Conference
February 21, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m

Join us for a multiple-site conference that offers women in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska a unique opportunity to gather for a 1-day event, experience great speakers, learn new skills and network with others at an easily accessible location.

Walla Walla farmer Emily Asmus will share how Welcome Table Farms keeps their “brand” fresh to build interest and loyalty. Learn what tools and techniques are critical to their marketing plan.

Marketing expert Erica Mills from Claxon Marketing believes every woman can–and should–have a consistently compelling way to describe her farm business. She knows this isn’t easy and will help farms of all shapes and sizes tackle this tough challenge. Using proven tools that have been pressure-tested by thousands of users, you’ll learn a simple, 3-step marketing method and create a Marketing Action Plan that gets you results.

In addition to telling your compelling story as part of your marketing plan, this conference will help you inform decision makers, non-farmers and community members about your best management practices.

Registration fee is $30 but there is a $25 early bird special between January 10 and February 13; includes a light breakfast, lunch, handouts and tools you can use. Scholarships are available for aspiring farmers and student.

For event information including locations, registration, and agenda, visit: Womeninag.wsu.edu. The Kitsap Community Agriculture Alliance has generously created a scholarship fund to pay the registration for seven participants to attend this conference. Please contact Laura Ryser at laura.ryser@wsu.edu or 360.337.7281 if you are interested in the scholarship.

WSU Extension, Western Risk Management Center and USDA-Rural Development bring you this great opportunity to learn – empowering women in agriculture to achieve goals and manage risk.
