Volunteers needed for ‘green’ stormwater project plantings

(Kitsap County, WA) Volunteers are needed to assist Kitsap County Public Works’ Surface and Stormwater Management Program with a unique ‘green’ stormwater project.

This fall, there will be multiple opportunities to help keep our waterways clean by participating in planting projects throughout the county at local, revamped, ‘green’ stormwater facilities. Native plants and healthy soils will be used to manage stormwater in a cleaner, more natural way. Individual or groups of volunteers are welcome. Dates and times of plantings will be announced, but those interested are encouraged to contact Public Works now.
