Sustainable Cinema Series features
“What's on Your Plate” Thursday, July 26 at 6:30 pm
(Port
Orchard) - July's film showcases a growing movement. Food value and
nutrition topics provoke opinions about everyone's health. Of particular
concern is childhood obesity, which has quadrupled in the last 10 years.
"What's on Your Plate" features a journey through the eyes of two The girls follow the food chain, from the origin of the
food they eat, how it's cultivated and how many miles it travels from farm
to fork. They visit supermarkets, fast food chains and school lunchrooms.
They also check out innovative food system practices by going to farms,
greenmarkets, The Sustainable Cinema Series offers films to stimulate community discussion. The film series is sponsored by Kitsap County Commissioner Charlotte Garrido and held at the Dragonfly Cinema in downtown Port Orchard at 822 Bay Street. A $5 donation is suggested. |
