Sheriff's Office is looking for Citizens on Patrol volunteers

(Port Orchard, WA) – The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with Kitsap County Volunteer Services, is seeking volunteers for its Citizens On Patrol (COP) program. COP volunteers support unincorporated areas of the county providing Sheriff’s Office presence to enhance public safety, enforce parking-prohibited regulations, conduct home vacation checks, process abandoned vehicles and assist with traffic control and community events.

Volunteers commit at least 16 hours per month and attend monthly training meetings for a minimum of one year. Applicants must undergo an extensive background examination and a good driving record is required.  Community resource volunteers are also needed.
