Kitsap County teams with local builders to improve building inspection process

(Port Orchard, WA)  Kitsap County's Department of Community Development continues to focus on improving service delivery to the community and overall customer satisfaction by implementing new lean processes. The Department is teaming with local building and other key stakeholders November 13-15 to analyze the building inspection process.

Inspections are limited during that week, as building inspectors focus on identifying current processes, including identification and elimination of any non-value added steps and streamlining the overall process. The team will deliver a final ‘report out’ on November 15 that summarizes the lean event and focuses on highlights of the implementation plan.

The work to improve the inspection process follows the highly successful analysis of the single family residence permit process.
