Kitsap County Parks and Recreation operating & maintenance budget for 2010 is approximately $3.4 million.

Kitsap County Parks and Recreation is comprised of 78 park sites, totaling more than 5,800 acres, 34 miles of trails, and 228 miles of shoreline.

All of this Park land is managed and maintained by 19 maintenance workers:

• Fairgrounds & Events Center - 2 maintenance workers, 2 ball field workers, 2 part time event assistants, and 1 supervisor
• All other park sites - 10 parks and ball field workers, 2 supervisors

Seasonal extra help workers provide additional park maintenance throughout our park system.

Our numerous stewardship and volunteer groups provide additional support for our Parks by assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of several locations.

Supervisors maintain oversight of full time and seasonal staff, as well as coordinating the work of contractors, volunteers, and stewardship groups.
