The Fair & Stampede currently has volunteer positions available with Still Life Exhibits.  Still Life Director, Ken Kramer, is looking for volunteers for Home Arts Superintendent, Photography Superintendent, and Hobbies & Crafts Assistant Superintendent.  If you are interested, please contact Ken Kramer at 360.271.8873 or call the Parks Office at 360.337.5350.

The Fair & Stampede needs your help!  Many volunteer opportunities are available from now until the conclusion of the 2009 Fair & Stampede.  Jobs vary from taking fair entries to sprucing up the Fairgrounds.  Please contact the Parks Office at 360.337.5350 for ways to help!

Family Volunteer Day

Kitsap County Parks would like to extend our Thanks to the Community for coming together to support “Family Volunteer Day.”  With the help of Famous Dave’s BBQ, who provided lunch, and Starbucks Coffee, who helped wake us up and keep us warm in the morning, the volunteers did a great job cleaning up Old Mill Park.  Families worked side by side to clean litter from trails and beaches, remove weeds and lay down mulch to open up the view of Dyes Inlet from the picnic area.  Parents and kids had a chance to volunteer together and enjoy giving back to their communities.

Family Volunteer Day is always planned for the Saturday before Thanksgiving in order to kick off the giving season.  It is also a great way to teach children that volunteering can be fun and beneficial for their community. Thank you to everyone who came together to make this day a great success!
