2009 KITSAP COUNTY FAIR BOARD

Function & Purpose

The Kitsap County Fair Board advises and acts as the community liaison with respect to planning and operations of the annual Kitsap County Fair (Ordinance No. 200-1996 revised 6/6/05).

Established

The Kitsap County Fair Board was established by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners by Resolution No. 21-1965, which was codified as Section 1.6 of the Kitsap County Code.  The Fair Board was established to act as the County's agent in the operation of the annual Kitsap County Fair and to administer all funds derived from the State of WA and all funds derived from other sources in the operation of the annual Kitsap County Fair.  The purview of the Fair Board was amended by Ordinance No 200-1996 and revised on 6/6/05.

Meeting Time & Location

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Fairgrounds & Events Center in the Training Center, located next to the Parks Main Office.

Due to the holiday closure of County offices on November 11, 2009 in observance of Veteran's Day, the November Fair Board meeting will be moved on Thursday, November 12, 2009.

Membership

Members are unpaid volunteers from throughout Kitsap County who are appointed to the Board by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners.  Terms are three (3) years for each area of responsibility (Ordinance No. 200-1996 passed 12/23/96 revised 6/6/05).

The responsibilities are as follows: 1-Concession Director; 2-Commercial Director; 3-Entertainment Director; 4-Admissions Director; 5-Livestock Director; 6-Still Life Director; 7-Rodeo Director; 8-Security Director, 9-Parking & Traffic Director
