Facilities Maintenance

Our facility consists of 77,032 square feet between the two buildings. The building is equipped with one chiller plant rated at 125 tons, 2 boilers rated at 1.9 million BTU each, 3 water heaters, 3 large multi-zone air handlers, 21 combination gas furnace/air conditioning units, 30 heat pumps, 141 electrically controlled doors, video and audio systems, and computer controls to operate most of these things.

Facilities Maintenance provides 4 people to keep the Juvenile Department presentable, operational, comfortable, and safe. Maintenance mechanics perform building modifications and upkeep for the entire facility, along with changing of air filters, and tackling challenges as they arise. The result is a facility of which to be proud. Custodial services are provided for the detention and administration buildings; keeping the floors shiny and the carpets and restrooms clean are only one of the many aspects of this job. Maintenance and custodial functions are performed around court schedules, detainee movement, and a multitude of other activities taking place at the facility.
